Going back to school with humane education

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. For parents, at least.

Kids rarely look forward to heading back to the classroom, but we think we might be able to help with our new humane education programs.

We spent our summer vacation working hard with an educational expert to develop classroom curriculums for students of every age.

Whether it’s K to 8 or high school, we have lesson plans that will help foster understanding, critical thinking and compassion, including:

  • Wildlife in the neighbourhood
  • The history of the fur trade in Canada
  • Ecological roles of beavers
  • Exploration of animal rights
  • Green/eco-friendly marketing, and more!

We’re in the process of developing a full curriculum for social justice classrooms.

We’ve also made it easier than ever for you to help spread humane education from coast-to-coast with our Sponsor a Classroom option. Through this program, every class will receive – at no charge – posters, buttons, stickers, printed versions of curriculum and videos.

Teachers, parents and students interested in learning more about our humane education program – which also includes in-classroom presentations – can contact us at info@thefurbearers.com. The lesson plans are freely available in our Humane Education campaign section.

Have a wonderful, compassionate, back-to-school season!
