#MakeFurHistory campaign goes international and lands in Hong Kong

Wow! The #MakeFurHistory campaign that we started with LUSH Cosmetics and the Montreal SPCA in 2014 is now hitting the streets of Hong Kong!

LUSH has used their international presence to move our successful fur-free campaign to their storefronts and markets in the major Asian city, opening the eyes of millions of consumers.

Hong Kong and mainland China have long been power players in the fur business, both producing and purchasing the vast majority of fur in the world. The decreasing interest in fur from China has played a major role in the lowering fur prices in North America.

Utilizing the campaign created in Canada, LUSH has partnered with No Fur Citizens Hong Kong, a local group, to translate materials and goals to Chinese Cantonese. The images and discoveries from Canadian fur farms made public during our campaign are also being featured.

Additionally, the popular “donate your fur” portion of the campaign is being offered to Chinese consumers, who will be able to donate fur trims and other materials through LUSH to the Non-Profit Making Veterinary Services Society, who will assist stray animals during cold winter months.

To see more images from this campaign, check out our Facebook page. We’re thrilled to see that LUSH has taken this campaign even further, and know we’re getting close to a Canada – and world – where we can say we were part of the movement that helped to #MakeFurHistory.
