Privacy Policy

The Fur-Bearers is committed to protecting personal information and adhering to standards governing the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information under provincial and federal laws. The Fur-Bearers collects and uses information that you provide in order to support advocacy efforts, fundraising, donations, campaigns, print distribution, letter writing and petitions, email lists and newsletters, and other purposes. We follow best practices to ensure that all personal information is managed safely and securely. The Fur-Bearers will only collect, use, and disclose personal information as authorized by law. The information collected by The Fur-Bearers will be protected. We do not sell personal information to any third parties.

Email newsletters, communications, and engagement actions

When signing up for our email newsletters, supporters may select which types of communications they wish to receive. Supporters can opt-out by unsubscribing to our newsletter at any time and manage their preferences through links in the newsletter emails or by contacting The Fur-Bearers. Supporters will have the opportunity to learn more about campaigns and receive newsletters by indicating they wish to receive communications when they provide donations and engage in action items such as petitions and letters.

The Fur-Bearers will make reasonable efforts to ensure that all personal information is accurate and complete. Individuals may contact The Fur-Bearers to request correction of their personal information if there is an error or omission. The Fur-Bearers will ensure that all personal information that is collected is stored securely. Social Media Policy

The Fur-Bearers welcomes respectful discussion regarding our campaign work on social media. We will not tolerate abuse of any kind including threats, harassment, and targeting of individuals. The Fur-Bearers reserves the right to remove comments and ban users without notice on any of our social media platforms if they are determined to be harassing, threatening, abusive, offensive, or intentionally spreading misinformation.
