$2,600 reward for info leading to conviction in killing of bear family

There is a $5,100 reward for information leading to identification and conviction of the person(s) responsible for killing an entire bear family in Roberts Creek, British Columbia.

According to media reports, the Conservation Officer Service is investigating after a member of the public discovered the decomposing remains of a sow and two cubs down an embankment in the Sunshine Coast community.

Last week, The Fur-Bearers informed area media of a $1,000 reward for information leading to conviction. Within hours of our reward being posted we began receiving emails and phone calls, and the reward has now increased to $5,100 due to support for the community.

We’re directing everyone to call the RAPP line or Crime Stoppers (anonymity is available this way) to submit tips and information on this horrible incident. It truly shows the depths of compassion residents of Roberts Creek and British Columbia have for wildlife with whom we share our communities.

Call Conservation Officer Service RAPP Line: 1-877-952-7277

Call Crime Stoppers (anonymous tips): 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS)

We greatly appreciate those individuals on the Sunshine Coast who have contributed to our original reward of $1000.
