The City of Montréal's recently elected administration, Projet Montréal, has promised to put in place ethical and efficient ways to deal with urban wildlife issues. However, March 26, 2018, the city is voting to award a contract to a trapping company to manage coyotes. Trapping and relocating coyotes is not effective or humane, and does not resolve the root cause of human-wildlife conflict. Co-existence programs such as those found in Vancouver, Niagara Falls, Calgary, and other cities and communities across Canada are proven to be effective, humane, and ethical.
Please say NO to trapping in Montréal, and look to ethical, humane solutions to preventing and mitigating conflict with wildlife.
