Announcing The 2021 Clements Award Winners

The Clements awards are named for Bunty and George Clements, long-time directors of The Fur-Bearers.

The Fur-Bearers are pleased to announce the 2021 Clements Award winners!

The Clements Awards was created to highlight the outstanding work of the many wildlife advocates and animal lovers in Canada; in honour of long-time directors and leaders of The Fur-Bearers, George and Bunty Clements, these awards are presented to celebrate those who have followed in their footsteps as advocates for fur-bearing animals in Canada.

After thoughtful conversation around the numerous submissions received online and internally, The Fur-Bearers in 2021 are honouring:

Outstanding Advocacy: Ellie Lamb

Outstanding Artist: Tony Joyce 

Outstanding Innovator: Joshua Katcher 

Outstanding Media: Jessica Scott-Reid

Outstanding Organization: North Shore Black Bear Society 

Outstanding Leadership: Pete Fry

Outstanding Research & Education: Marc Bekoff 

Outstanding Municipality: Port Alberni 

Outstanding Community in Action: Fox Aid PEI 

Lifetime Achievement Award: Brad Gates
