We were informed this week by two supporters that The Shopping Channel’s website was now host to several real fur products – ranging from trims to collars to boots. But what disgusts us is the response that one supporter received after making a complaint.
She was told that the suppliers used by The Shopping Channel procured fur from humane sources in China. That is the oxymoron of the century.
Not only is all fur inherently inhumane, but in China, where animal welfare laws are non-existent, it is an outright fallacy to propagate to unsuspecting consumers.
As Canadians, we expect a level of honesty and integrity from our retailers. The Shopping Channel has shown that they are putting profits first – and we won’t stand for it.
Until such time that The Shopping Channel publicly states they will not sell fur and pulls all fur products from their online store, we are issuing a boycott against them.
We have also prepared an online petition targeting The Shopping Channel – with enough support, we will show that the majority of Canadians are fur-free, and expect their retailers to be, as well.
