Calling All Animal Lovers

Volunteers in a non-profit or charity are the backbone of an organization. The importance of having reliable, dedicated volunteers is indescribable. Many large charities have specific departments dedicated to recruiting, scheduling and training volunteers.

While some tasks may be tedious and repetitive, organizations are so very thankful for the contributions. It is important to find ones passion and seek out volunteer opportunities in an organization with similar values and goals.

That being said, our small group of volunteers are helping us out with mailings, community events and other various tasks. It is our ultimate goal to have a team of volunteers dedicated to certain tasks and able to run the table events independently, start up a street team to gather donations and memberships and network with the public. This allows us to spend more time and energy on campaigns and projects.

We will be dedicating more time to developing a proper volunteer program with monthly meetings come the fall. Summer is a busy time for events and we are always in need of people to work our tables. These are some fun, lively events including the Vancouver Folk Festival this July 13-15 and Critter Care’s open house July 14-15.

If community events are not your specialty we have an endless number of tasks that need to be completed on one’s own including graphic design, blogging, social media and letters to editors, just to name a few!

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer please fill out the form at https://thefurbearers.com/volunteerand we will get back to you right away.

Volunteers are so very important to us and we thank you for helping out the animals!
