Evolving the Living With Wildlife conference with webinar series

The growth of our annual Living With Wildlife conference was exciting over the last several years – in Vancouver and Toronto we saw new faces, great speakers, and shared the constantly evolving body of knowledge about co-existence, municipal planning, and wildlife advocacy.

And now it is time for the conference to evolve, too.

Beginning this month, our annual Living With Wildlife conference will become the new Living With Wildlife Webinar Series. Throughout the year we will be presenting speakers from around the world to audiences around the world at a reduced cost for both organizers and attendees. Due to new web-based software that is accessible on almost every computer and many smart phones and tablets, the excellent presentations and educational opportunities previously afforded only to those in our host cities will now be available anywhere on the planet.

Our admission to these webinars will be as low as $5 for most events, making this affordable and accessible to everyone from students to municipal planners or politicians to scientists.

To kick start this new project, we’ll be hosting Predatory Media: How Sensationalism Impacts Perception of Predators in Modern Media, presented by our own Michael Howie (who incidentally we met when he presented about sensationalism at LWW2011 in Toronto!). You can learn more about his presentation and the webinar details by clicking here.

We are very excited to be bringing this new initiative to all of you, and can’t wait to see who we’ll meet and what we’ll learn with #LWW2016!

Work like our growing Living With Wildlife campaign is only possible with the support of monthly donors. Please consider become a monthly donor – for as little as $5 a month – and help us create a Canada that is truly fur-free.
