Fjällräven

Swedish for “Arctic Fox”, Fjällräven is a completely fur-free company that makes warm coats for a wide variety of weather extremes. Choose from a variety of options for outerwear, sweaters, shirts, pants, accessories and bags. One of our favourites is the Nuuk Parka, fur-free and made with Microloft, a lightweight and super warm alternative to goose down. All ofFjällräven’s items are made in factories that have high labour standards and they use eco-friendly fabrics and support environmental initiatives. PLUS – their logo is super adorable.

Patagonia

A company with heart, Patagonia donates 1% of their sales to hundreds of grassroots organizations all over the world. They have an incredible and extensive social policy. They also never use fur in any of their clothing or gear.

Vaute Couture

Run with the little guy! Vaute Couture is a vegan fashion house that creates amazingly warm winter coats that double as pieces of art. Not only is this company completely animal-friendly (no fur, leather, suede, silk, down or wool) their line of cold weather coats also contain recycled fabrics and fibres as well as organic materials. Each coat is made by hand in NYC’s fashion district. Vaute Couture has a long list of celebrity fans including Alicia Silverstone and Emily Deschanel. Treat yourself this Christmas!

With stores across Canada, Mountain Equipment Co-Op provides a wide variety of quality outdoor gear at fair prices. The company works hard to source sustainable products including organically grown cotton and recycled polyester. They do not sell any real fur products and ensure their factories adhere to strict and responsible labour practices.
