More time to comment on BC plan to kill wolves and bears

A glitch in technology has given those who oppose the proposed changes to hunting and trapping policies of grizzly bears and wolves in BC another chance to have their voice heard.

The public commenting period for the latest round of trapper-friendly initiatives has been extended until January 31, 2016. This means that those who live in British Columbia can log into the public registry and leave a comment that the government is required by law to read and keep on file.

This kind of action is absolutely critical in directing new policy as well as giving indication to the ruling government(s) of how voters feel about existing and proposed policies. Copies of these communications should also be sent to voters’ MLAs. Residents outside of British Columbia are still able to write in to the Premier and Ministers responsible for these decisions.
