Over 7,000 Canadians signed our formal House of Commons petition to end fur farming in Canada (e-5269), sending a clear message to parliamentarians that it is time for them to take action.

We want to extend our appreciation and deep thanks to all the people who signed and shared the petition, as well as our partner organizations who have supported this effort.

The petition (you can view it by clicking here) received 7,058 signatures and was certified to be presented in the House of Commons. However, in light of Parliament’s prorogation it is uncertain if there will be an opportunity for the petition to be presented when the House resumes. The Fur-Bearers will advocate for the petition to be presented if possible and provide updates on all our channels.

We again thank everyone for their compassion, efforts to share and sign the petition, and the impact you’re having for fur-bearing animals across Canada.

You can send a direct letter to your MP on our campaign site at FurFarming.ca (click here to open it in a new window). You can also share the page across your social media channels to help drive more awareness of the ongoing issues related to fur farming in Canada.
