A digital marketing campaign by The Fur-Bearers helped educate Burnaby residents on the consequences of feeding raccoons. Raccoons in Burnaby, BC, have recently been reported to be increasingly reliant on human food, leading to negative encounters with residents and poor health for the animals. A lack of education about wildlife feeding is contributing to the problem.

Fortunately, Burnaby residents are now taking notice of the issue. The Fur-Bearers launched an Instagram ad campaign focused on the dangers of feeding wildlife, particularly raccoons. The digital ad, designed to educate and encourage responsible wildlife interactions, made a significant impact in just a short time.

Instagram Ad Educates Burnaby Residents

Our Instagram video ad targeted Burnaby residents, and educated them about the consequences of feeding raccoons and other local wildlife. The campaign encouraged residents to keep wildlife wild and directed viewers to learn more about the issue at TheFurBearers.com/Feeding.

Making a Lasting Impact

The Instagram ad reached an impressive 143,000 people across the city of Burnaby, raising awareness about the dangers of feeding wildlife. Nearly 3,000 people visited our educational page, TheFurBearers.com/Feeding, to learn how feeding harms animals and other ways they can support local wildlife.

What Can We Learn?

Spreading awareness and providing accessible resources can help communities across Canada coexist with wildlife and understand the impact of their actions. By working together, we can create positive outcomes for animals.
