Saying goodbye to Cathy Grimwood

The Fur-Bearers, and all the animals of the world, lost a dear friend this month in Cathy Grimwood

It is with heavy hearts that The Fur-Bearers said goodbye to Cathy Grimwood this month, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, Ontario at the age of 60.

Cathy was an animal lover to the truest degree: she volunteered for The Fur-Bearers, running a table at Guelph VegFest for two years, writing letters to the editor and politicians, and reminding many of us that hope for animals was always there. Cathy also worked extensively with New Hope Animal Rescue, and her love for cats and other animals brightened the world around her.

Our deepest condolences go to Cathy’s family in their time of mourning, and we’d like them to know we will always remember Cathy fondly, as someone who put others first, cared for those who had no voice, and inspired all of us to do better for each other.
