Support opposition to deer culls at Supreme Court

DeerFamily
In 2011, the District of Invermere began a process to cull deer throughout the region. The residents, who formed the Invermere Deer Protection Society (IDPS), claimed that municipal regulations for committees were not followed and that the government pushed forward the agenda despite overwhelming support for alternate solutions.

As a result of legal actions taken by the IDPS, only 19 deer were killed instead of the planned 100.

The IDPS is asking residents, animal advocates and those concerned by municipal culls to show solidarity at the courthouse (800 Smithe Street, Vancouver) on October 9 from noon to 2 pm.

APFA is a strong supporter of the IDPS and their cause and are looking forward to a victory in court.
