Winners of Aviva Community Fund show Canadians are compassionate

Aviva Community Fund Wildlife
The good news: 40 organizations and community groups across Canada have received funding as part of the Aviva Community Fund.

The great news: 45 per cent of them are animal or environmental in nature.

The Aviva Community Fund, an online game-show-esque contest funded by Aviva Insurance, has raised millions of dollars for Canadian groups looking to improve their communities. This year, the results – which are based on voting by the public – are showing that Canadians truly are compassionate.

Included in the list of winners are two groups that are near and dear to us – Critter Care Wildlife Society and Bear With Us Rehabilitation and Sanctuary.

While our governments continue to spin their wheels on environmental-exploitation in the name of economic gain, it is clear what Canadians care about: each other and the wildlife around them.

Thank you to Aviva Insurance and everyone who voted for giving animals and the environment a leg up.
