The most common use of fur is as a trim on jackets or accessories. Sadly, a great number of otherwise compassionate consumers purchase these products without the knowledge that to get the trim an animal died in an inherently inhumane trap, or on a brutal fur farm. Conversations The Fur-Bearers have heard include people who believed the fur came from shedding or shearing, or simply didn’t know the fur was real. Compassionately communicating the facts is a major step in creating a fur-free Canada.
This page was created to provide resources for anyone who wants to learn more about fur trim, or take positive, compassionate steps towards our goal to #MakeFurHistory. It will be updated regularly.

Download and print
We're making some of our leaflets available for download for advocates who'd like to do their own printing. Please note that these files are designed to be printed by a professional printer, not an in-home or office printer, due to cropping, colour use, and sizes. Contact your local printer to learn more.
The Fur-Bearers is funded entirely by donations, and due to our advocacy against the fur industry, had our charitable tax status revoked. Please consider making a gift of as little as $5/month to support our work and help us #MakeFurHistory. Learn more or make a donation by clicking here.
