Help Us Make Fur History

This is the story of Rose, a fox who lived on a fur farm in Quebec. In 2014, the Montreal SPCA investigated the farm. This video is narrated by photojournalist Jo-Anne McArthur. It was produced by The Fur-Bearers.

The Fur-Bearers has educated the public, advocated to politicians and worked to Make Fur History in Canada since 1953. In 2022, we designed the EndFurFarmingBC.com microsite with partners including the BCSPCA and the Union of BC Indian Chiefs, connected thousands of residents with their MLAs, calling for an end to fur farming. A few months later, the government ended mink farming in the province. Help The Fur-Bearers, a non-partisan, charitable society continue telling stories like Rose’s, and leading Canadians toward a future where fur-bearing animals are no longer persecuted for the commercial fashion fur industry. With your help, we will Make Fur History.

Monthly donations ensure that The Fur-Bearers can continue our work and both create long-term strategies, as well as pivot to crises and opportunities as they arise. Monthly donations are eligible for Canadian charitable tax receipts, which are issued at year end. On behalf of The Fur-Bearers, and the countless animals whose lives you will impact, thank you.
