Fur farming is a cruel practice that confines fur-bearing animals in small wire cages. These animals are killed by the fur industry and their pelts are sold and used in luxury fashion products. Numerous countries around the world have banned fur farming, it’s time for Canada to join them and move this cruel practice into the past. You can make a difference to end fur farming in Canada.
We are calling on our supporters, animal protection advocates, and all members of the public to engage with their elected representatives on this issue.
The Fur-Bearers has created a toolkit that you can use to arrange a meeting with your Member of Parliament (MP). This toolkit has everything you need to know including a background on fur farming, statistics and quick facts, how to arrange a meeting, and what to communicate to your MP.
If your MP does not respond to your request for a meeting or you’re unable to meet them, you can use this letter template below to send them an email instead. Share this page on social media and encourage others to take action against fur farming by meeting with their MP. Keep updated on our fur farming campaign and action alerts by signing up for our newsletter. Together, we will end fur farming in Canada.
