The Christmas Tree For The Animals

Nearly 60 years ago, George and Bunty Clements first illuminated lights on a tree for every donation The Fur-Bearers received through December. By Christmas Eve, our long-time leaders could warm themselves with the glow of hope coming from that tree outside their window (see some archived photos of this and read more here).

That hope that they felt still exists, and though we don’t have a tree to light up today, The Fur-Bearers is warmed by the generosity and love we feel throughout the holidays with the donations and notes we receive from supporters like you. This year, we worked with artist Michelle Lee of Broadview Design to reimagine a classic piece of The Fur-Bearers’ history (a painting donated by late and loved member Dorothy Clarke).

Beginning December 13th, each day as we countdown to Christmas and donations arrive, more of the above image will be revealed. On behalf of the Board of Directors and team at The Fur-Bearers, as well as the animals whose lives you’ve improved this year, thank you.
