Four coexistence tips for small businesses

If you’re a small business wanting to make compassionate choices that help wildlife, look no further! The Fur-Bearers have put together a guide that can help get you started. Here are four ways your business can help the animals:

  1. Get involved in our fox box program! These donation boxes are an incredible branding and fundraising tool. They raise awareness for wildlife protection in communities across Canada, and provide valuable funds to ensure The Fur-Bearers’ work can continue. To inquire about our fox box program, reach out to Sydney at Sydney@TheFurBearers.com.
  2. Display our informational pamphlets! The Fur-Bearers have numerous educational pamphlets available. Putting these materials on display can start great conversations and educate customers on best practices for wildlife coexistence. Visit our resources page to learn more and request some for your business!
  3. Check for attractants. Businesses small and large have a role to play in keeping wildlife and nearby people safe. Dumpsters, organic waste and recycling bins should be closed and secured, and outdoor eating areas should be kept clean of food and wildlife-proof waste receptacles provided. Remember to check drainage holes in waste containers, as wildlife can get stuck in them. For more details and tips, go to StashYourTrash.ca!
  4. Contribute to our annual silent auction! Funds raised from our silent auction support our work to create and provide educational resources to communities and homeowners to coexist with wildlife and protect their habitat, as well as advocate for fur-bearing animals nationwide. If you’d like to make a donation to our silent auction, please contact Sydney at Sydney@TheFurBearers.com.
Small but effective choices can make all the difference for animals and the environment. How does your business encourage coexistence? Let us know on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or Linkedin
