Humane Voters announce candidate endorsements

Several hopeful candidates have just been handed a glowing endorsement by Humane Voters Canada, the new political wing of Animal Justice.

Humane Voters announced their list on their website and through a news release this week, explaining who each candidate is and why they were selected for endorsement.

“Humane Voters Canada is proud to support politicians from all stripes who show a firm commitment to advancing animals’ interests in Parliament,” said Jerry Simonelli, director of Humane Voters, in the release. “Polling consistently shows Canadians want to vote for politicians who take animal issues seriously. Having a strong, cross-partisan caucus of MPs is key to improving life for animals in Canada.”

Candidates endorsed by Humane Voters Canada are:

Don Davies, Vancouver-Kingsway, NDP

Fin Donelly, New Westminster-Coquitlam, NDP

Rick Dykstra, St. Catharines, Conservative

Nathaniel Erksine-Smith, Beaches-East York, Liberal

Hedy Fry, Vancouver Centre, Liberal

Mark Holland, Ajax, Liberal

Brian Masse, Windsor West, NDP

Elizabeth May, Saanich-Gulf Islands, Green Party
