The Fur-Bearers is celebrating the start of spring with a spurt of digital marketing campaigns that will help communities coexist with wildlife.

The following messaging was developed in line with our humane education programming and is targeted to Canadians using YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook. Want to help spread our messaging even further? Copy/paste any of the items below, use the built-in share features, or consider a tax-deductible donation (click here to learn more!).

YouTube Wildlife Feeding Messages

This digital message outlines how leaving food for animals or birds on trails and in other natural areas attracts more than just birds – and the subsequent risks to all wildlife. The post directs interested parties to learn more on our wildlife feeding page at https://thefurbearers.com/wildlife-feeding/.

Feeding wildlife in urban areas can be a popular way to connect with nature – but it changes the behaviour of animals and can lead to life-altering consequences for them. This message shows how feeding leads to difficulties or death for wildlife. This post also directs users to our wildlife feeding page (see it by clicking here).

Facebook and Instagram

Rabbits given as gifts (particularly around Easter) sadly often end up released into natural areas. Since these domestic individuals are invasive species, significant harms can come to the individuals and the broader ecosystem. This post on Facebook and Instagram helps animal lovers understand the need for responsible pet ownership, and how to protect rabbits long-term.

Thank you for sharing these important messages and helping us increase the impact for wildlife and communities across Canada!
