Living With Deer Guide

Oh, deer!

After the municipality of Oak Bay made a rash decision to cull 25 deer to appease a handful of residents, APFA – along with partner organizations Friends Of Animals and the BC SPCA – has stepped up to create a guide for homeowners.

The Living With Deer guide was developed with best non-lethal practices for wildlife management and targeted for the residences of Oak Bay, though the knowledge within is applicable in many situations.

Whether a small community on Vancouver Island or a large urban centre in Southern Ontario, there are always non-lethal options for coexisting with wild animals.

It is our hope that guides such as this will allow communities to make compassionate, sustainable and ecologically-sound decisions in the future.
