When a raccoon was spotted with severe injuries in White Rock, British Columbia this year, The Fur-Bearers acted quickly. The Fur-Bearers connected with a wildlife rehabilitation office to monitor the injuries; spoke with nearby residents to get the facts; and successfully petitioned city hall to adopt a trap-free by-law.
When the federal government was holding a series of hearings filled with fur lobby cronies, The Fur-Bearers was the only advocacy group to stand up and speak on behalf of the animals.
When people question if fur is humane or if there might be non-lethal solutions to wildlife conflict, The Fur-Bearers are ready.
And it’s because of monthly members that The Fur-Bearers can respond to all of these – and many other – issues from coast to coast. To say thanks to our monthly members – and any who signs up as a monthly member between now and June 19, 2015 – we’re putting their names into a draw for some incredible prizes offered by our corporate supporters.
