We’ve seen numerous victories for the animals in recent months and are poised to take on new opportunities to end fur farming in Canada – but we need your help.
With you, our supporters, we campaigned for the end of fur farming in BC. In 2021, BC became the first province in Canada to ban mink farming. We launched a legal challenge against the BC government for issuing a fur farm license to the province’s only chinchilla fur farm. And the media is noticing – through May, we had over 20 mentions in newspapers, radio and TV!
Recently, private members’ bill C-247 was put forward by MP Nathaniel Erskine Smith, which if passed, would end fur farming across the nation. We want to do everything in our power to support it and use this opportunity to educate elected officials on the harsh realities faced by fur-bearing animals.
