Making change for wildlife and the environment means getting support from elected representatives at varying levels of government. The Fur-Bearers has created this page to help you locate your municipal/local, provincial/territorial, or federal representatives.
Use of your postal code can be a quick way to find contact information. If you’re unsure of your postal code, you can click here to find it via Canada Post.
Find my MP (Federal)
Canada has 338 Members of Parliament, all of whom represent individual ridings across the country. MPs are federal representatives and may not have influence or jurisdiction over provincial and municipal affairs. To find your MP click here.
Find my MPP/MLA/MNA (Provincial/Territorial)
There are 10 provinces and three territories in Canada, each with its own government and elected officials. Use this list, ordered by province/territory, to open a new window to find your provincial/territorial representative.
Find my Municipal Representative
To find your local government contacts, begin by identifying the name of your municipal government. If you’re not sure, enter your address into the Canada Post postal code finder. This will give you the name of the municipality recognized for your area.
Following this, go to Google or your preferred search engine and type in the name of your municipality and “How to contact”. The first links that appear are most likely to be ones that will lead you to your municipal, regional district, or other local government council. If you continue to struggle with this following a few attempts, reach out to us at [email protected] and we’ll do our best to assist you!
