Petition e-4351 to replace fireworks

Fireworks displays, like this one over the City of Vancouver, can be overwhelming and lead to significant harms to wildlife, pets, and people living with conditions like PTSD.

Firework displays create havoc for wildlife, pets, individuals living with post-traumatic stress and other mental health issues. An official House of Commons e-petition, if it reaches the required 500 signatures, will ask the government to replace firework displays with light shows.

The petition is open for signatures until July 14, 2023 at 2:43 p.m. MP Laurel Collins (NDP, Victoria) will read the petition into the legislature if it reaches the required 500 signatures; the government will then be required to issue a formal response.

Wildlife, domestic animals, and people are affected by fireworks; it can sound like gunfire, thunder, or explosions, and can be overwhelming. The Fur-Bearers support petition e-4351 and encourage others to participate by signing here.
