The deadline for applications to The Fur-Bearers’ Arts and Science Scholarship is now October 14, 2022.
In 2021, The Fur-Bearers launched our Arts & Science Scholarship. The scholarship was created to support individuals who are committed to improving coexistence with wildlife in Canada.
We are pleased to have offered two scholarships under this program last year, one in the arts stream and the one in the science stream. Projects in the arts stream aim to engage with their communities and share the message of coexistence through the arts. While the science stream is designed for projects that are primarily research-driven and work towards empirical solutions to promote coexistence with wildlife.
Our 2021 award recipients, Nikki Heim and Sarah Ronald, captured the spirit of coexistence in their unique projects. We are impressed by their work and their dedication to tell the stories of wild animals, our relationship to them, and how we can find solutions to coexist with wildlife. Read the following blog posts to learn more about Nikki’s and Sarah’s projects.
